Crazy Freestyle Motocross Stunts

Freestyle motocross, a relatively new sport, does not involve racing and instead concentrates on performing acrobatic stunts while jumping motocross bikes. The winner is chosen by a group of judges. The riders are scored on style, level of trick difficulty, best use of the course, and frequently crowd reactions as well.

One stunt performed is the back flip, which was first attempted in competition by Javi Perez. Soon after this, Mike Metzger succesfully completed this stunt in competition, using a standard freestyle ramp and dirt landing.

More recently Mike Metzger actually did a Back flip over the Caesars Palace Fountains. Some consider the body varial 360 as the most difficult stunt being performed at this time. This stunt, also called the Carolla, was first performed by Chuck Carothers at the 2004 X Games. Prior to this, the backflip 360, or off-axis back flip, was widely considered the most challenging stunt.

Another rider taking freestyle to a new level is Travis Pastrana. At the 2006 X Games, Travis Pastrana performed the world's first double back flip (in competition). It earned him the 2006 Freestyle Gold Medal.

6 Reasons Baseball Is a Weird Sport

Many people take the game of Baseball rather seriously, but lets step back and open your mind to the top 10 6 reasons baseball is one weird sport.

1. The 7th-inning stretch makes baseball the only sport where spectators must take part in calisthenics.

2. When a pitcher walks a batter, the batter jogs to first base. Incongruous, but it is a nice show of effort.

3. There’s a rule preventing pitchers from spitting on the ball. They can spit anywhere else they like, apparently.

4. If you aren’t such a good hitter, you can have a pinch hitter bat for you. If you aren’t such a fast runner, you can have someone–a pinch runner–come in and run for you. At what point, you might wonder, is a team entirely comprised of “pinch” players?

5. It is legal to “steal” in this game. This is, perhaps, a questionable example for children.

6. If a batter fails two-thirds of the time, they’re still considered an excellent batter. It’s too bad this standard isn’t applied to everything else in life.

Best Ski Jump land ever

Watching the Winter Olympics is always great fun, the Ski Jump is normally the best event. I like watching them land as some always look a bit wobble; well I don’t think I have seen a landing like this.

Afghanistan’s Weird National Sport Called Buzkashi

The photo above shows Afghanistan’s weird national sport in action, its called Buzkashi and involves a group of horse-mounted warriors and a game ball, which is basically a dead goat.

There are no real rules and the goat has had its legs cut off at the knees, disembowelled, beheaded and soaked in cold water for 24 hours to toughen it up. Sometimes you have to ask yourself…WHY?
